1. Runoilija ilmoittautuu joko etuk\u00e4teen j\u00e4rjest\u00e4jille tai paikan p\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 puoli tuntia ennen runoilujen alkua, mik\u00e4li vapaita kisailupaikkoja on viel\u00e4 j\u00e4ljell\u00e4.<\/p>\n

2. Runoilija esitt\u00e4\u00e4 vain omia runojaan.<\/p>\n

3. Esityksen kesto on rajattu kolmeen minuuttiin. Ajanotto alkaa runoilijan runon ensimm\u00e4isest\u00e4 sanasta. Ajan p\u00e4\u00e4ttyminen ilmoitetaan, ja ajan ylityksest\u00e4 rangaistaan aina 0,5 pistett\u00e4 kultakin alkavalta kymmenelt\u00e4 sekunnilta. Tuomarit antavat pisteet jotka he olisivat antaneet muutenkin ja pisteidenlaskija v\u00e4hent\u00e4\u00e4 seuraavan kaavan mukaisesti pisteit\u00e4 kokonaistuloksesta riippuen ajanylityksen kestosta.<\/p>\n

6. Kilpailun tuomaristoon kuuluu viisi yleis\u00f6n edustajaa. Raadin viisi yleis\u00f6j\u00e4sent\u00e4 valitsee j\u00e4rjest\u00e4j\u00e4 ennen kilpailun alkua vapaaehtoiseksi ilmoittautuneiden, puolueettomien ja arvostelukykyisten kansalaisten joukosta.<\/p>\n

7. Yleis\u00f6raati jakaa pisteet asteikolla 1,0\u201210,0 niin, ett\u00e4 10 on paras. Ylin ja alin arvostelu j\u00e4tet\u00e4\u00e4n pois ja kolmen keskimm\u00e4isen pisteet lasketaan yhteen. Tasapisteiden sattuessa ensimm\u00e4isell\u00e4 kierroksella otetaan molemmat\/kaikki tasapisteet saaneet kisailijat semifinaalikierrokselle mukaan. Semifinaali kierroksella toimitaan samalla tavoin. Mik\u00e4li finaalikierroksellakin sattuu tulemaan tasapisteet, kuullaan kisailijoilta viel\u00e4 yhdet ekstrarunot.<\/p>\n

8. Toiselle kierrokselle p\u00e4\u00e4see puolet runoilijoista, joista ensimm\u00e4isen\u00e4 esiintyy v\u00e4hiten pisteit\u00e4 saanut. Mik\u00e4li kisailijoita ei ole ensimm\u00e4isell\u00e4 kerralla tasalukua, otetaan jatkoon puolet kisailijoista siten, ett\u00e4 luku py\u00f6ristet\u00e4\u00e4n yl\u00f6sp\u00e4in. Jos kisailijoita on ensimm\u00e4isell\u00e4 kierroksella esimerkiksi 11 henke\u00e4, otetaan semifinaalikierrokselle t\u00e4ll\u00f6in 6 henkil\u00f6\u00e4. Toisella ja kolmannella kierroksella ei lasketa mukaan edellisten kierrosten pisteit\u00e4.<\/p>\n

9. Karsintojen kolmannella kierroksella runoilee kolme kilpailijaa (paitsi tasapistetilanteessa), joista voittajan valitsee sama tuomaristo.<\/p>\n

Third Place Slam takes place at T\u00f6\u00f6l\u00f6, Arkadiankatu 23. Each time around one of a maximum of 12 contestants stands to win a 50-euro gift card to the restaurant itself, famed for its menu as well as for its packed event calendar.<\/p>\n

Third Place Slam is organized by official international slam rules, given below.

Rules<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
1. Each poet signs up to compete at the given event by messaging the organiser in advance or registering 30 minutes before the start of the slam. The maximum number of slammers is 15.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
2. Each poet may only perform their own original material.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
3. Slam slots can last a maximum of 3 minutes. Each poet’s running time is counted from the first word the poet speaks. The organiser informs the performer and the audience if the time limit is exceeded. For every ten seconds exceeded, the poet looses 0,5 points. The judges will give the score they want to give and the points are then reduced depending on the length of the overtime as follows:<\/p>\n
3:00:01 – 3:10 -0.5 points
3:10:01 – 3:20 -1.0 points
3:20:01 – 3:30 -1.5 points<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
4. No props or music are allowed during the slam, excluding the microphone, mobile phone, Ipad, paper or book from which the poet may read.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
5. The order that the poets compete is randomly drawn from the hat for the first round.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
6. Five non-competing members of the slam audience make up the judging panel of the slam. The organiser picks the judges from among those impartial members of the audience who volunteer to serve as judges. The judges are chosen either beforehand or at the behest of the organiser or MC.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
7. The judges give points to each performance on a scale of 1.0 to 10.0, with 10.0 being the highest score. The lowest and highest scores are ignored and the three remaining scores are added together. In the case of a tie during the first round, both poets continue onto the semi-finals. In the case of a tie during semi-finals, both poets continue onto the final. If there’s a tie during the final round, both poets will perform an extra poem to decide a winner.<\/p>\n

8. Half of the poets continue to the second round. The poet with the lowest score performs their set<\/p>\n
first, the one with the second lowest performers second, and so on. In case there’s an uneven number of poets entering the first round, the number of poets carrying on to the semi-finals is rounded up. For example, if there are 11 poets competing on the first round, 6 of them will go through to the semi-finals. The scores of the previous rounds are not accumulated.<\/p>\n

9.
